Window Removal & Stair Extension

This project began with a window removal in order to proceed with a stair extension to provide easy access to second-floor apartments for tenants. After removing the window it was framed, sheathed, and a weather barrier was applied. From there, flashing was installed to allow proper drainage, prevent rot, and give siding an attachment point. Primed spruce clapboard siding was installed. A deck ledger was installed 5/8" spaced off of flashing to allow passage for water to drain. Pressure-treated decking and stairs were installed and the tops of joists and stair stringers were flashed to prevent future corrosion.
